Installing QuickTime Player 7 on OSX Snow Leopard

Snow Leopard ships with a cut-down version of QuickTime. As video editors, we're used to being able to export multiple formats from QuickTime, but the standard QuickTime Player no longer has the 'Export' menu option.

The workaround for this is to install QuickTime Player 7 from the OSX install disk. Heres a MicroTip video which explains how to do it.

 

MicroTips only last a minute or so and have no sound, just video and notes: they're designed as quick reminders for editing techniques.
